• How much does a medical cannabis online consult from HelloMD cost?

  For a limited time, it costs $159 to see the practitioner online. And there is a one-time fee from the state of Illinois (see below) to receive your official medical card. We accept all major credit cards.

• What are the benefits of a medical cannabis card in Illinois?

  You receive high quality medical advice from a licensed practitioner, and you save money. The practitioner can offer you advice on how best to use medical cannabis and on its potential benefits. You will also save money by avoiding additional taxes on your medical cannabis purchases – as much as 30% in savings.

• How long is my online consult with the practitioner?

  A typical consult takes between 15-30 minutes. Please be prepared to have your consult in a private, well-lit space, away from distraction. Your practitioner will also want to discuss any medications you may be on and your prior medical history.

• Will I receive advice about cannabis from my practitioner?

  Yes. Our practitioners will guide you in determining if cannabis is right for you. From the privacy of your own home or office, ask all of your cannabis questions and be sure you’re getting sound medical advice.

• What’s the process for receiving my Illinois state medical cannabis card?

  Once you receive an approval certification for medical cannabis from your HelloMD practitioner, there is a process dictated by Illinois state regulations for granting your physical medical card. Please note that Illinois charges an additional application fee.
  
  Once you are approved by the HelloMD practitioner, you will need to register your certification with Illinois’ online Medical Cannabis Patient Program. You will need proof of residency in addition to proof of identification. Once registered, you will receive your medical card in the mail.

• Where can I purchase medical cannabis in Illinois?

  After you register your HelloMD certification, your application needs to be approved by the state. Once approved, you will receive a temporary card number which can be used to purchase medical cannabis. A typical turnaround is about 24 hours. The program recommends calling the desired dispensary ahead of time to make sure your provisional registration card is active before going to the location.

• What professions will stop me from qualifying for an Illinois medical card?

  Unfortunately, if you are or have any of the following you may not apply:
  
  

  • • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • • School Bus Permit
  • • Currently employed as: Law Enforcement, Correctional Officer, Probation Officer, or Firefighter
